The Hotel is set amongst wonderful gardens and has a fantastic view over the Crocodile River where hippos and other wildlife abound. The Crocodile River borders the Kruger National Park.
The Kruger National Park has almost 2,000 km of roads and 6 permanent rivers that cross the savannah within the park. It is home to a vast number of different animals and countless species of all kinds. It is the habitat of countless species, and tourists here will have the ideal opportunity to observe at close quarters the Big 5 - the Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhinoceros, not to mention 336 types of tree, 49 species of fish, 114 types of reptiles and 507 species of birds, and innumerable giraffe, monkeys, zebras and antelopes.
9km from the Lodge is the town of Malelane which developed as a result of the building of the railway line that was started in 1828 to link the old Transvaal to Maputo as this was an independent port. In 1884 the Portuguese started building the line in their colony. Due to various occupations and wars the line could only be completed in 1894, and the then President Paul Kruger opened the "Oosterlijn".
Pestana Kruger Lodge is an hour drive from Swaziland and two hours from Maputo, making it an ideal location to visit 3 countries in one day! The cosmopolitan city of Nelspruit is a 45km drive and offers a wide range of shops
"BOMA":
This is an outdoor experience you cannot miss!! The "Boma" is an African tradition that offers a typical dinner in an outdoor setting, served around the campfire.

Quadbiking
These are available for hire and go through the sugar cane fields located next to the hotel. A packed lunch may be organized.
Bushwalks
This is conducted on a big five game reserve and are led on foot with an armed ranger. This may be booked through the Safari Desk at the Hotel.
Open Vehicle Safaris:
View game close from the open 4x4 vehicle in the Kruger National Park. Bookings through the Safari Desk at the Hotel.
Wildlife Excursions.
Visit a wildlife rehabilitation centre or go to the Cheetah or White Lion Breeding Project. These may be booked through the Safari Desk.
Panorama Tours:
Take a scenic drive to experience the beauty of the Panorama Route. Visit the Mac Mac falls onto Pilgrims Rest where gold was discovered in the 1800?s., then the tour will take you to the Blyde River Canyon, affording stunning views.

By road, from Johannesburg or Maputo (see below), or by plane from various Airports in South Africa either directly to the Nelspruit International Airport or connecting via Johannesburg International Airport to the Nelspruit International Airport. There is the option to travel by road from Johannesburg International Airport. From Johannesburg: Take the Witbank Road N12 N12 becomes the N4 continue to Nelspruit Continue on the N4 through Nelspruit to the town of Malelane Continue through Malelane on the N4 +- 6 Km after the Malelane sign board on the left hand side, Kruger National Park R570 Turn Left onto the R570 continue for +- 3km Pestana Kruger Lodge is located on the Left Hand Side.
