Apart from old fashioned hospitality we offer guests regular sightings of game from the viewing deck and swimming pool.
Facilities include a chapel for intimate weddings, a small conference room and self catering unit.
We are ideally situated for excursions to the Kruger Park,the Panorama route, Swaziland and Mozambique.
There are year round game drives by arrangement.
River House is also HIGHLY COMMENDED by the AA ACCOMMODATION AWARDS 2000 in the category SMALL COUNTRY RETREATS, As well as a 4 CRYSTAL GRADING from SABS TOURISM. The Tourism Grading Council have graded us a 5 Star Lodge !
CHILDREN POLICY
No children under the age of thirteen. Accommodation Self Catering : River House has 1 Self Catering unit. It comprises of an open plan living area, kitchen, separate shower & WC. It has 3 double bunk beds & is equipped for 6 people. Although not tourism accredited, it offers clean & adequate accommodation for the more budget conscious traveller. Our comfortable Guest House is located on the banks of the Crocodile river , in complete harmony with the African bush. We have 12 individually decorated en-suite bedrooms with a choice of either 2 single or 1 double bed. All bathrooms have a shower over bath, hairdryer and amenities are provided, whilst the rooms have coffee making facilities, ceiling fans as well as being air-conditioned. Every room has a private balcony with superb views up to the Khandizwe and Thlalabye hills of the Southern Kruger Park . Apart from the chance of spotting lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, rhino and much more ( as we do ! ) our garden is a bird watcher's paradise. Apart from our bedrooms River House has one selfcatering unit which can sleep up to 6 people. Whilst this is not a freestanding river cottage, it is fully equipped and comfortable, although not as the same standard of the house. The unit is aimed more at the budget conscious traveller . Naturally our pool, deck and garden can be enjoyed by those who prefer a selfcatering option.   
Attractions| | Golf : River House is proud to announce that we are able to offer our guests the opportunity to play golf at the nearby Leopard Creek - rated as one of the top golf courses in the world, the privilege to play this magnificent course should not be missed by the golf enthusiast. Reservations strictly in advance & subject to availability. For the energetically inclined we can arrange various activities in the surrounding area. These, however, need to be booked well in advance and include:
— Open vehicle safari drives into Kruger, either full day or morning only. For these we use operators based either in town or at Pestana Kruger Lodge, which is a stone's throw from the Malelane Gate.
— Sundowner drive extending into night drive followed by Boma dinner on a private reserve.
— Elephant rides, interaction or walks.
— Micro lighting
— Visit a Swazi Cultural Village for tour, meal, traditional dancing (& curio shopping)

Facilities| Weddings: | | | | | | Back home the original pump house under our deck has been converted into an intimate chapel for fairytale weddings. Gay flower filled candelit ceremonies have often been interrupted by 4 legged visitors, much to the delight of the bridal couple and their invited entourage – anything is possible when you exchange vows on the fringes of the jungle …. Small personalized weddings are tailor made to suit most every couples' whims, needs and for this once in a lifetime event the complete function will be arranged and co ordinated by River House.
