We are centrally situated on the well-known Panorama Route, with picturesque waterfalls such as Lone Creek and Bridal Veil only a stone’s throw away. The road to Graskop, running along the western lip of the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, is one of the most spectacular in the country. It's strewn with waterfalls and lookout points offering camera-hungry views. The Three Rondavels, Bourke's Luck Potholes and God's Window are also found on this route. Bourke's Luck Potholes, so named because they were once quite literally pots of gold, are a "must see". The three closest entrance gates to the Kruger National Park are: Phabeni gate - 18 km, Numbi gate - 25km and the Kruger gate 50km. You can also take scenic day trips to explore the Sudwala Caves (second biggest caves in South Africa), Pilgrims Rest, Blyde River Canyon (third biggest canyon in the world), the Shangana Cultural Village, the cheetah breeding project at Kapama and the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at Moholoholo. When you grow tired of your own cuisine, you can treat yourself and dine at Capstone Restaurant that offers delicious meals. You can also visit our Beer & Tea Garden for a snack or a light lunch. A number of good golf courses are a short drive away, including the one at Skukuza in the Kruger Park. Wandering idly beneath Jacaranda boughs through the timber and corrugated iron town provides you with a palpable sense of its gold-rush past. Within a year of the discovery of gold (1873) there were 1 500 diggers jostling the banks of Pilgrims Creek panning for alluvial fortunes. Justice was rough and if you were banished from the town for a transgression such as theft or working someone else's claim, it was best to stay away. The robber's grave in the local cemetery attests to one unfortunate who was shot on his return. All these activities are within a radius of 10km from the resort:
