The Royal Kruger Lodge is a Private Game Lodge renowned for its exceptional personal service and intimate atmosphere.

The main lodge continues the African theme with a beautiful hand crafted bar. The bar is licensed and stocked to cater for the tastes of both domestic and international travellers. Royal Kruger Lodge offers 10 luxury rooms, all en-suite, air conditioned and elegantly appointed in African style décor, enhancing the ambience of the Lodge. Beverage facilities are provided in each room.

The lounge area adjoins the bar and offers guests the opportunity to relax in comfortable African log furniture while discussing the adventures of the day.  The indoor dining area adjoins the lounge, where breakfast and dinner are served when outdoor dining is prohibited due to weather….however this is quite rare in the area.

Situated in Mpumalanga Province in the ‘Wild Frontier’ region, the Royal Kruger Lodge is just beyond the Crocodile River and forms a natural border with the Kruger National Park. It is conveniently located 45 minutes from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and a 5 hour scenic drive from Johannesburg.

Close to the lodge and overlooking our sparkling swimming pool, the lapa offers the perfect location to enjoy a hearty breakfast, while observing some of our regular animal visitors.

The refreshing pool offers guests the chance to cool off and relax after their adventure filled safaris. Loungers and umbrellas are provided for added comfort.

Game Drives

 

Wild African Game Adventures

Experience Africa at its best through endless bushveld, tropical forests, shimmering plains and abundant flora, while keeping a close eye out for the thrilling sights of the big five - lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo.

 

All game drives are conducted in our comfortable open game vehicle with our qualified and knowledgeable experienced Game Rangers through Kruger National Park. While driving through the Park in the early hours of the morning see lionesses with their cubs, antelope grazing or rhinos basking in the sunlight. The African bush will have something to offer, no matter where your interests lie. Royal Kruger Lodge is located just beyond the Crocodile River which forms a natural border to Kruger National Park. All game are free roaming and Zebra and Giraffe can often be seen quenching their thirst at our waterhole located right on the property while our family of warthogs visit daily.

Night Drives

Experience the stunning African sunset while starting your night tour through Kruger Park in an open vehicle using spotlights to encounter the nocturnal animals. Watch Lions and Leopards on the hunt or spot the bush babies jumping from tree to tree while your experienced guide shares interesting facts with you. An exciting way to watch the animals behaviour at night and see animals that you may not see during the day.

Tiger Fishing

 

 

The Komati River has its catchment area in the Swaziland Mountains and flows down to the Crocodile River, at the southernmost border of the Kruger National Park. It is one of the unique rivers of South Africa, renowned for its Tiger Fishing. Here one can experience the might of one of Africa’s finest fresh water game fish. Our experienced guide will take you to some of the best sites, where you can also observe Hippos and Crocodiles in their natural habitats.

Bush Walks

 

Enjoy a guided tour in the Kruger National Park, spotting various animals, birds, insects, reptiles and many different species of trees. Your guide will share his knowledge of the local area and wildlife, adding to the excitement and thrill of observing the animals in the natural environment, while on foot.

Golf

 

 

 

Swing your clubs at one of the natural golf courses located a short distance from the Lodge. Watch various animals as they wander across the fairways while you are lining up your next shot.

Hot Air Balloon Safari

 

The oldest form of flying is seen as the most graceful and peaceful way to observe the land from above.

The launch site is situated in the beautiful Sabie River Valley. Depending on wind direction, the balloon may float over fruit orchards and bush, or forests and hills. It doesn’t really matter which way you go as the views from the basket are truly spectacular.

Balloon flights take place in the very early morning and last approximately 1 hour. Guests should allow about 4 hours for the excursion and refreshments will be provided during the adventure.

Mozambique Trips

 

 


Although in close proximity to the Lodge, Mozambique combines the African and Portuguese cultures, to provide a very different lifestyle to that of the rest of South Africa.

Our guide will show you the local markets of the capital Maputo and take you through the downtown area, where one can observe the extensive history of this country.

Alternatively, guests may choose to relax and unwind on one of the sun drenched, powdery white sand beaches of the Indian Ocean.

 

Mozambique is renowned for its seafood and guests can savour its wonderful cuisine in one of the many traditional restaurants.

Swaziland Trips

 

Swaziland is an independent country within the borders of South Africa and is the only remaining true monarchy of the African Continent.

It is where the Matsamo Cultural Village is located. Enjoy a guided tour to this fascinating village where Swazi tribesmen and women perform their traditional dancing and provide insight into the Swazi culture.

Spend some time browsing the many curio shops, where a variety of interesting and locally crafted items, are available.

The Swazi tour is both informative and entertaining and a very popular venue with our guests.

Just a few short steps from the Lodge is our traditional outdoor Boma. This is where guests enjoy a four course dinner, prepared on open fires under a starlit sky, enhancing the atmosphere of ‘their African Experience’.

Driving directions from Johannesburg and surrounding areas: - Follow the N4 Witbank Highway towards Nelspruit - Continue with the N4 through Nelspruit to Malelane - Continue with the N4 through Malelane and proceed another 30 kms to the Marloth Park Exit sign on your left. - Turn left at the Marloth Park Exit and proceed along the sand road for approximately 5 kms to the Marloth Park Gate - Proceed through the Marloth Park Gate and continue for a further 4.8 kms to the Oribi Avenue sign on your left - Turn right into Oribi Avenue and continue for approximately 200 meters - Royal Kruger Lodge is situated on your left
