Malelane is a small town in Mpumalanga near to the Kruger National Park in South Africa. The farms in the region produce sugarcane, subtropical fruit and winter vegetables. Malelane was proclaimed in 1949 and the name was corrupted from the swazi expression "eMlalani" which means place of the palms. Malelane makes for an especially good base for day trips into the Kruger Park
